Here’s my geek pet companion…who’s yours? This is Mars the wonder-mutt, who was about to be put to sleep by the pound when we found and adopted him…he was given 2 years to live because of a birth defect in his hips, related to his corgi/rottweiler parentage. However, it’s been 10 years now and he’s still going strong…and can keep up on with us on even the longest of rambles…well maybe not with the kid. Mars has definitely dropped down the pecking order since the arrival of our son, but we do love him and the kid adores having him around…even I am rather attached…when I’m not resentfully walking him around the park in horrid Toronto winters!
